Welcome to the Edinburgh University Music Society website. It allows you to access all Edinburgh University Music Society website services from a single point on the Internet and aims to deliver information in plain English. The site has been designed to be as easy to use as possible. If you have any feedback, you are welcome to contact us here.
The Edinburgh University Music Society aims to ensure that all of the venues we perform and rehearse in are accessible to all. All of our venues are wheelchair accessible, and we also welcome guide dogs at our concerts.
If you feel you may be prevented from rehearsing with one of our ensembles as a result of any additional accessibility needs then please get in touch with the appropriate Ensemble Manager and we will be happy to ensure that any issue is resolved to the best of our ability.
For our concerts, to ensure that we can accommodate you please let us know of your specific requirements when booking your tickets in order to make best use of our facilities. Stewards and trained first aid personnel are on duty during any performance to assist you if required. Please contact us for further information about disabled facilities.
The Edinburgh University Music Society is committed to making its services accessible to everyone, including those with additional support needs. If you use a screen reader, or some other device to help you view the Internet this site should be accessible to you. Most of the site conforms to Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
The key issues we have addressed to ensure accessibility are as follows:
All images on this site are accompanied by a brief alternative text, which describes the image or its function as appropriate. This alternative text, also known as “alt-text”, is generally visible only when the browser’s automatic image loading feature is turned off.
All text links are written so that they make sense when read out of context.
PDF files can be read using Adobe Reader software, which is available for many different computer systems including Windows, Macintosh, Linux and Palm. For help with Acrobat files and a link to download Acrobat Reader, please visit the Adobe website.
The text on this website has been styled using a non-fixed value in a style sheet. This means that users can easily change the text size using their browser settings.
